PERFORMANCE
DATABASE |
The Server
Professional and Server
NOC editions
include a server-side database that logs all connection
test results, providing visibility to the connection performance
from remote customers or remote data center locations.
The reports are browser-based for easy access, search and
filter views enable custom reports of specific data items
or ranges. |
| MULTIPLE TEST SERVERS |
The Business and SupportPro editions
include the ability to perform connection tests from various
Visualware testing servers.
The multiple testing points help identify
poor performing network routes or devices. |
| CONTINUOUS PERFORMANCE TESTING FROM REMOTE SYSTEMS |
The Server NOC edition's AutoTime NTA™ (Network
Test Agent) performs automated remote testing of corporate
and global networks from multiple network locations anywhere
in the world.
All data collected is reported to the VisualRoute
performance database for review and analysis.
This enables Network Operations Centers (NOCs)
to quickly and clearly see the performance and quality
of vital networks. |

VisualRoute
Server Standard is for businesses that want
to provide network connectivity
and performance testing to users anywhere via the
browser.
Enable remote users and support
staff to easily conduct connectivity performance
and quality tests from your server to any Internet
location
Easily deploy VisualRoute in
a full DMZ secure deployment to enable browser access
from inside or outside a corporate firewall

| ADVANCED NETWORK CONNECTIVITY
TESTING |
- PingGrapher™ Continuous
Network Latency Testing
PingGrapher provides continuous
testing to a specific IP address, reporting
network latency over time for more detailed
views of connectivity performance.
- DNS Performance
Testing
VisualRoute measures and reports
on DNS (domain name service) response time,
which can have a significant effect on connectivity
performance.
|
| ADVANCED FEATURES |
- Integrated
Web Server with Browser Access
A built-in web server engine provides
access to the connectivity test and performance
test via the browser. This enables VisualRoute
to be deployed in a secure DMZ deployment outside
a corporate firewall if needed.
The VisualRoute web server does not require any third party web
server software such as IIS or Apache, although
Apache or IIS can easily be used as a front
end web server if desired, and be deployed
on the same physical system or a separate system.

STANDARD FEATURES More
info |
- NEW! IPv6 Compatible
IPv6 is the next generation of IP addresses, and IPv6 networks
will be introduced with growing frequency until they are the norm.
VisualRoute 2008 traces IPv6 addresses, reporting the route, latency,
packet loss, whois lookups and network provider.
- Graphical
View of Traceroute, Ping, Reverse DNS Connectivity
Analysis
Results from several essential
network diagnostic tools are integrated into
an overall connectivity report, providing a
graphical view of connection performance report
including packet loss and latency for
each network hop. Drill-down detail is easily
visible with a mouse over any network hop.
- Trace to any
Remote IP address or Domain from the VisualRoute
server
Test connectivity from the VisualRoute
desktop to any web server, IP address or network
device. Get an instant report of the entire
route and each network segment, see where data
is being lost or excessive latency occurs.
And by combining multiple network diagnostic
tools in one easy to interface, VisualRoute
provides a complete picture of connectivity
performance -- with much faster results than
traditional tools.
- IP Location
Reporting
The physical geographical
locations of network servers and routers is
key information for understanding routing problems,
viewing the actual route path on global map
provides an instant of picture of routing efficiency
and distances.
- Network Provider
Reporting
See the contact information
for the company providing Internet access for
each hop of a network route, so you can easily
report network problems.
- Domain Whois
Reporting
Get instant lookups of
domain information from worldwide databases,
so you can see the registered ‘owner’ of
an IP address or domain..
- ICMP & UDP
Traceroutes
ICMP is the standard diagnostic
vehicle for traceroute reporting. UDP is an
application protocol, UDP traceroutes extend
the ICMP traceroute capability through a more
accurate depiction of application routing and
more ‘firewall friendly’ traces. VisualRoute's
intelligent protocol selection system automatically
switches from ICMP to UDP traceroutes where
required.
