Video Test Configuration

The test configuration options are available when creating a custom test.

The settings explained below are quite self explanatory. Simply alter the size and number of packets to more accuratley simulate the video test to your environment.

Size of each audio packet: This parameter defines the size in bytes of each audio packet.

Number of audio packets to send: This parameter defines the audio packet for the test specified in packets per second.

Client discard threshold for audio packets: defines the max millisecond threshold above which the test will record arriving packets as discarded by the client. The value set essentially defines the maximum jitter allowed for an audio packet to be usable in the client.

Server drop threshold for audio packets: defines the amount of delay in the send buffer at the server before the server will remove packets from the audio stream. When network lockouts occur the value set essentially defines the amount of time in milliseconds that the server is allowed to be late in sending packets before the packets are removed from the stream. The packets removed are physically not sent to allow the stream catch up the delay and improve the audio quality.

Size of each video packet: This parameter defines the size in bytes of each video packet, this needs to match the Video codec being used.

Omit the first: Select the number of milliseconds of data to omit from the calculations taken at the beginning of the test.

Test duration: This parameter defines the test duration in seconds. Maximum limit is 90 seconds.
